Welcome to our website!

Our scout group is based in Marshfield in South Wales and we are a member of Newport District Scouts.

We have sections for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and this site is intended to provide some basic information for new starters and those wishing to join. The reports below will give you an idea of the activities our scouts have enjoyed in the past but we are always changing our programme and trying new activities.
If you would like further information feel free to contact us

Some previous activities
  • February 2015 District Scout Cooking Competition

Congratulations to our older girls team for retaining the District Cooking Trophy with their second win. Well done.

  • November 2014 Remembrance Parade

Well done to all the Beavers, Cubs & Scouts (& Brownies!) who attended the Remembrance Parade. It was a great turnout again.

  • September 2014 Gwentrek

After weeks of training 12 of our scouts took part in Gwentrek, the Gwent Area hiking and camping competition. This weekend is the highlight of the scouting year, testing all our scouting skills, and our scouts did really well. This year we took part to gain experience but next year we will be ready...!

  • March 2014 DofE Gold

March 5th 2014  - one of our ex-scouts was presented with his Gold Duke Of Edinburgh Award by HRH Prince Philip at St. James's Palace. He was one of 12 Welsh scouts altogether. Also present were Chief Commissioner Wales Gareth Watson and Scouts Wales President Rudi Plaut.

  • February 2014 District Cooking Comp

Congratulations to our girls team for winning the Newport District Cooking Competition at the weekend. Commiserations go to our boys team who were in the runners-up places due, probably, to their runny custard.
This year's competition had a Chinese theme and the teams had to cook and present a three course meal within 2 hours. All 6 competing teams created superb dishes and everyone enjoyed the morning. Thanks to Paul, 1st Rogerstone, for organising the event, and the judges for doing a great job again.

  • September 2013 Over the top!

Beavers go 'over the top' at the Transporter bridge! 26 beavers and parents made it over the top of the bridge, whilst 5 others visited the engine house and watched it work the gondola. One beaver even got invested there

  • July 2013 Cub Scout camp

The Cubs went camping at Woodhouse Park near Bristol in the height of summer.

  • June 2013 The cubs go back in time!

The cub groups went to the Builth Wells Cubs Fun Day and everyone dressed up as The Flintstones.
